STYLE FOOTLONG RECIPE
Who has not eaten and
relished a subway foot long!
It’s my personal favorite of
all the fast foods available. Healthier than a lot of other options, full of
veggies and tasty sauces, a sub does give a full meal in one. So, this time I decided
to make it at home. Fresh salad and the patty made from previous night’s dinner
leftover.

Rice ‘n’ Cheese

Made these yummy multigrain
rice and cheese sub patty from the dinner leftovers and clubbed it along with
lettuce, cucumber, tomato, onion and flavored with thousand island sauce, mint sauce,
mustard sauce and salt and pepper to make the yummy and healthy rice and cheese
sub.Todays breakfast along with our summer favorite mango shake.
Serves:
two 6” foot longs
Cuisine:
Fast food
Ingredients:
Multigrain footlongs-2
Cucumber (cut in rounds)-1
Tomato(sliced)-1
Onion (sliced)-1
Lettuce (small)-1 or 6 leaves
Thousand island dressing or any sandwich spread.
Mint sauce to taste
Mustard sauce to taste
Few chili flakes and Italian herbs to sprinkle.
Amul cheese slices-2
Tomato ketchup/ hot n sweet sauce-2 tbsp.
For patty:
Leftover boiled rice: 2 tbsp.
Boiled potato: 2 medium mashed
Kadhai paneer or any dry paneer (cottage cheese)
vegetable: ½ cup( used my leftover)
Fresh Bread crumbs: 1/4 cup
Salt to taste
Fresh paneer: 4 tbsp. ( I had some lying in the fridge)
Oil for frying
Method:
1. For patty: mix together, boiled and mashed potatoes, paneer
(cottage cheese) veggie, rice and fresh paneer along with bread crumbs. Season
it with some salt to taste. Mix well and make small patty like balls and flatten
them a bit with your hands.
2. Heat oil in a skillet and fry these on medium to high
flame till done. Keep aside.
3. Now, to assemble the foot-long, cut the foot-long into
half lengthwise. Spread some thousand island dressing. Place lettuce leaves
.Now put cucumber rounds as many as you wish. Put some onions and tomatoes on
top .On the other side place some amul cheese slices cut into half’s and then
put the prepared patties and press them a bit with your hands.
4. Top it with some chili flakes, Italian herbs and tomato
ketchup or hot n sweet chili sauce. Fold in and relish this yummy subway style
veggie RICE ‘N’ CHEESE sub.
